<description>Aha, that's some good advice. I posted about &lt;a href="http://fromthewoodshed.com/blog/2008/02/07/strength-training/" rel="nofollow"&gt;strength training&lt;/a&gt; a few months back. It would be nice to get some dumbbells for more wrist/forearm exercises.</description>

<description>Dude! I admire your discipline to take on such an awesome workload! I find that if I practice more than four hours per day - 2x2 hour sessions - I suffer physical and emotional burnout within a couple of months, but if you can take the physical and emotional stress of ten hours (!), more power to you.

Since I play nylon string guitars, which require a lot more pressure to fret, I have discovered that one of the keys to effortless playing is having a big reserve of forearm strength. Since I have a Bowflex, I just added a bunch of forward and reverse wrist curls to my workout routines. I'm not talking about ten reps each, I mean like 240 reps total over the course of an hour workout: Until your forearms are so pumped up you can hardly move them. This increases the vascular flow to your arms by building new blood vessles, which increases endurance. It is especially helpful for trills and repetitive tap technique.

I just consider my physical workouts to be a part of my practice routine anymore.

Cheers, and thanks for the link! Next time I redo my sidebar, I'll return the favor.
