Suck It Up
Sight reading this morning was about as frustrating as it's ever been. I almost punched something. Sometimes I feel like I'm making progress. This morning I felt no better than I was a year ago. That's a long time.
But I know what I have to do. It's like the end of a long workout, when I scramble my brains and get cross-eyed pissed off at something. I have two weeks until the SDSU audition.

I've just found your blog today, and I think it's great that you were able to quit your day job to pursue something you love. I've played for about a year and am going to college soon. You said you practiced every day in college. I take lessons now, how do I continue learning in college?
Good luck!

Hi Allie, glad you enjoy the blog.
I'm really not sure how I found all that practice time in college. I tried to never make the excuse of not having time, it was always up to me to make time for guitar. You'll end up choosing to make time for whatever it is you want to do, so if you want to keep practicing guitar for an hour or two every day, just do it. That's what I did.
I also stopped taking private lessons at some point in high school. I wasn't so serious about it then. And I didn't take any more until last year. I was pretty good about teaching myself by ear and books, but having a mentor to consult with one-on-one a few times a month really speeds up the learning process.
Godspeed.
