Texas Flood - Take 3
I've been slacking on my videos lately. Here's take 3 of "Texas Flood":
I decided to improvise around the original solo over a backing track instead of playing the entire song. That allows me to take a few liberties with my own ideas and with the exact timing on the solo. Fun with bend/slides at 3:36.
I started using the Guitar Rig demo program, so the sound on the video comes directly from the computer instead of a cheap digital camera microphone. It's pretty nice when I can prevent simultaneous playback, processing, and recording programs from eating my CPU alive.

Nice improv, .01-ton. I clicked to play, then got visually distracted for about a minute before reading your post. First I thought WTF then realized you were interpreting. Way mo betta than just copying. Loved it.

Not sure why, but it reminds me of pink floyd a little bit. Its good. Better than I could do anyway. :-)

nice work. good intonation. One thing i've learned copying SRV licks and obsessing over his general style and tone is you have to let go of some proper technique and just kind of hammer away for lack of a better term. if you watch live at el mocambo you can see how incredibly high his action was, and other than learning how to play poorly setup guitars, you have to compensate by trying to mimic that with a more aggressive attack and playing style.
keep at it, i just discovered your blog today, and it's interesting.
